Overview

Vocational training is training for a specific career or trade, excluding the professions. Xtra MediA's list of Vocational training courses focuses on practical applications of skills learned, and is generally unconcerned with theory or traditional academic skills.

A large part of the education in vocational schools is hands-on training. Vocational training thus provides a link between education and the working world.

Our aim is to prepare trainees for jobs that are based on manual or practical activities, traditionally non-academic, and totally related to a specific trade, occupation, or vocation.

It is sometimes referred to as technical education as the trainee directly develops expertise in a particular group of techniques or technology.
